Pilgrim’s UK was recently awarded “Best Bacon Product” for their Co-op Air Dry Cured Smoked Back Bacon Rashers during the Meat Management Meat Industry Awards 2021. This was the product’s second consecutive award in this category.
Pilgrim’s UK faced stiff competition but ultimately triumphed, taking home the award during the ceremony hosted by English football icon Kevin Keegan, OBE on Sept. 9.
“We are proud to once again win this award and I want to thank all the Pilgrim’s UK family for their collective efforts to help bring home the bacon,” said Pilgrim’s UK leadership. “The competition was strong this year. Our Air Dry Cured Smoked Back Bacon is well known, and its reputation is growing more and more. To win this award two years in a row is amazing.
“However, I want to especially thank the Redruth team and the Co-op team on the development of this outstanding product. To win in such a key category is a great achievement.”
The awards reflect exceptional products across the UK’s meat industry: the best manufacturers and producers, suppliers, retailers and butchers in the UK meat sector. Among the other categories, Pilgrim’s UK was also nominated for:
