Our Approach
Food safety and quality are paramount in our operations, and we work closely with local government officials in each country we operate to ensure strict adherence to regulations. Our dedicated team of global Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) professionals plays a crucial role in upholding our commitment to producing safe and healthy products.
We have implemented a robust FSQA management structure designed to ensure industry-leading performance and comprehensive corporate oversight. Leading this team is the Global Head of FSQA, who reports directly to the Global CEO. Heads of FSQA for each business unit report to their respective unit President, overseeing food safety and quality assurance programs and ensuring regulatory compliance. This structure extends to the facility level, with each Pilgrim’s facility staffed with a dedicated FSQA Manager and team. This streamlined reporting structure enables agile decision-making and efficient implementation of action-oriented initiatives. Further strengthening our oversight in the U.S., our Food Safety and Quality Advisory Committee, composed of senior Pilgrim’s and JBS team members and industry experts, provides expert guidance and oversight for our food safety program.
Our global approach fosters a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating best practice sharing across the company. This includes areas such as regulatory compliance, pathogen control, modernization, and other innovations. In partnership with JBS, Pilgrim’s hosts an annual Global Food Safety and Quality Conference, providing a valuable platform for identifying common challenges, discussing industry trends, and exploring opportunities to further solidify our position as a global leader in high-quality, innovative protein and value-added food products.
