Pilgrim's Sustainability Committee, which reports to the Board of Directors, oversees the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies, strategies, and programs. These efforts cover areas such as climate change, energy conservation, human rights, diversity and inclusion, and employee health, safety, and well-being. The Committee’s objectives include advising the Board on its legal responsibilities regarding sustainability, such as mapping risks and opportunities related to climate issues and evaluating sustainability investment proposals. Additionally, the Committee discusses and recommends the adoption of policies and measures related to social and environmental responsibility. The Committee recognizes that Pilgrim’s executive leadership and other senior managers are responsible for assessing ESG matters that may impact the company, as well as managing ESG-related initiatives.
