The Pilgrim’s Board of Directors sets the standards for our team members, officers, and directors, and works to ensure that credible, expert voices help guide the direction of our business. The Board is responsible for reviewing the overall operational, financial, and strategic plans and company performance, and the process by which financial and non-financial information about the company is provided to management, the Board, and the company’s shareholders. In addition, the Board selects and evaluates senior executives and oversees appropriate policies of corporate compliance and conduct.

These efforts cover areas such as climate change, energy conservation, human rights, diversity and inclusion, and employee health, safety, and well-being. The Committee’s objectives include advising the Board on its legal responsibilities regarding sustainability, such as mapping risks and opportunities related to climate issues and evaluating sustainability investment proposals. Additionally, the Committee discusses and recommends the adoption of policies and measures related to social and environmental responsibility. The Committee recognizes that Pilgrim’s executive leadership and other senior managers are responsible for assessing ESG matters that may impact the company, as well as managing ESG-related initiatives.
